Will my insurance pay for GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner?

Coverage policies vary from carrier to carrier and even from employer to employer. Most policies cover expenses such as casting supplies because they are considered expenses that are part of a physician's service. GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner is a casting supply.

If your doctor stocks the product in his or her office and you have a cast put on using GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner, the office may or may not submit the Cast Liner for insurance reimbursement. Some physicians' offices require their patients to pay for the product at the time of service because of the variance in coverage policies.

If your doctor does not stock GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner in his office but agrees to use the product at your request, you can purchase GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner directly from us to hand carry into your doctor. We will supply you with an invoice to submit to your health care spending account (if applicable). The invoice can also be used when submitting GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner to your insurance carrier.

If you are a member of an HMO, typically you do not have to submit claims on your own. However, many HMOs realize that situations like your purchase of GORE PROCEL® Cast Liner occur. Prior to submitting your claim, you should check with your HMO to see if they require a special form or if they have special submission requirements. This information can be obtained by referring to your policy book, calling your HMO or looking on the Internet. Many insurance carriers have web sites with the necessary information and access to the form(s) you will need to submit your claim.
